About The Trout House
Smoky Mountain Trout House is located in one of Gatlinburg's oldest buildings and is locally owned and operated and has been operating as a restaurant since 1975. Many locals and visitors to Gatlunburg consider the Trout House a must eat at restaurant. Our menu features some of the freshest local trout dishes, as well as; chicken, catfish and shrimp dishes.
Our Gatlinburg Trout House was recently remodeled and updated, while still keeping the original ambivalence and historic flavor. While some patrons find the decor charming and a little rustic, others like the historical significance of the restaurant, especially those who are seated on the upper level. The owners and staff go out of our way to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Patrons are able to sit and relax in a cozy casual, somewhat rustic decor, while taking in the interesting murals depicting hunting scenes and a real wood burning fireplace. For those who are new to Gatlinburg, this restaurant is the ideal spot to get a feel for the town’s history and activities.

Smoky Mountains Trout House’s claim to fame is serving locally sourced trout, and it would be a sin to visit Gatlinburg TN without trying at least one of our 10 fresh Rainbow trout dishes on the menu.

Patrons who simply have to sample something other than trout on our menu should consider the rib-eye, which is cooked over an open flame or our flame-broiled chicken breast and fried catfish. Smoky Mountain Trout House patrons can also choose sides, salads, soups and a kids menu. Our restaurant has a selection of local and imported beers and an extensive wine list to accompany their meals.
