“The food was delicious. Southern cooking at its best. Full Trout was tender and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly.

"True diamond in the rough.  Went this past Tuesday.  The 2 ladies on the floor , both stupendous. Our server was Trudy. So sweet and efficient.   We never waited for anything, she anticipated and knew. Apps, salad, and entree was well timed. I got the Eisenhower and my wife the almondine and both dishes are very good.  Props to the kitchen.   Super small, cozy and warm.   Not a spot to miss a visit when close by."

"Perfect meal and excellent service!  Trying to get a table anywhere this weekend was a challenge.  Took a chance & drove here from our hotel. Parking lot is directly across the street...that's awesome.  Seated immediately & promptly tended to.  Atmosphere & decor was everything I hoped a trout restaurant from the 70s would be...stuck in time in the BEST way possible!  Our server, Trudy, was a doll.  She was very warm & made us feel welcomed both as new Tennesseans and first time Gatlinburg visitors. Drinks in Mason jars (love that at any restaurant) and trout fritters to start.  I had the blackened trout, wife had the Eisenhower, son had the Ole Smokey, & little one had the kids chicken strips.  All trout preparations (blackened, fried, & smoked) were outstanding and the deboning was appreciated!  Still, be careful.  Onions & mushrooms were the perfect addition.  Perfectly fried hush puppies and chips for the table were delicious. And i loved that they use sweet chili sauce for dipping! This gem is going on the roster!"

"In a sea of predictable chain restaurants stands a reminder of Old Gatlinburg. The pine paneled dining room with cozy fire harkens back to a different era, when food and southern hospitality were the norm. The food is amazing, over the course of our stay we tried so many items. You start your meal with fresh homemade chips and hushpuppies with a pepper jelly. Everything is beautifully prepared. My favorite is the local trout with a delicate butter dill sauce served with a dilled tartar. Sides were sautéed mushrooms with caramelized onions and a delightful baked sweet potato.

I almost forgot to mention the trout fritters. Fantastic! a must. The staff is amazing, friendly and highly professional. I cant wait to go back."

"There are several reviews that ding this place for mask/covid concerns. I felt the place safe, clean, and pleasant for my family of four. Do not expect in your face cosmetics or log cabin construction. Do expect a warm atmosphere with knowledgeable staff of the menu.

I had the blackened trout with backed sweet potato, awesome. Cooked to perfection with a great seasoning, the trout tasted fresh and delicious. The potato clearly had not set in a warmer all day and was very good. My wife had the Eisenhower, superb cause I sample it strongly. She ordered a loaded baked potato and this place went all out in making sure it was "loaded."

The chips served with hush puppies both appeared to be made onsite. Fresh hushpuppies with a sweet pepper sauce they put together for you was awesome. The chips are thick cut, crunchy and delicious.

The bathrooms are upstairs, were clean, and bright. They appear to be doing construction up there but as a work in progress it was as expected.

I thanked the waitress, and the hostess, for the apparent pride and passion they take in serving their customers. I also asked to speak to the cook, who I also thanked, and tipped directly. I really wish I had ate their more than once, and look forward to eating there again."
